Permit Requirements

Accepted Documentation:

• Only a current water bill or electric bill is accepted.
  
  

Exception: 

Renters and individuals sharing a water meter must provide:

• A water bill, even if it reflects the landlord’s name;
• An electric bill reflecting the service address; and
• A rent receipt showing payment to the individual listed on the water bill.

• Applicants must provide a valid Driver’s License or Texas Identification Card.
• If the name on the water bill differs from the applicant, the Driver’s License or Texas Identification Card of the person listed on the water bill must also be provided.
• A previously issued permit sticker must be returned when there is a change in vehicles or replacement of a windshield. A replacement permit sticker will not be issued unless the previous sticker is returned.
• Solo se emitirá un permiso por vehículo.

Permit Applications and Payment

• Initial permit applications and payment must be completed in person.
• Cash and money order payments are no longer accepted.

Permit Renewals

• Permit renewals must be completed online.
• Online payment is required for all renewals.
